About the Project:
SpineAlign is a smartphone-based posture-analysis product. We built the authenticated user dashboard — people sign up, complete a guided health onboarding, then view their posture-scan results as heatmaps, scores and progress over time. A secure data API lets the scanning client upload results. The whole application — interface and backend — runs as a single service on Cloudflare's edge.

Objective
SpineAlign needed a secure, polished home for its users — a place to register, answer a structured health intake, and then understand their posture data through clear visuals. Behind it, the platform needed a reliable way for an external scanning client to feed posture results in safely.
Challenges
- Secure sign-up with email verification and optional Google sign-in.
- A multi-step health onboarding that keeps the user's answers intact as they move back and forth between steps.
- Storing and serving large posture heatmap images efficiently.
- Letting an external scanner upload data through an API without ever exposing credentials.
Approach
One service on the edge
The React interface and the API live in a single Cloudflare Worker with an edge database and file storage. Pages load instantly from Cloudflare's global network, and there is no separate backend to operate or scale.
Trustworthy accounts
Sign-up supports email verification and Google sign-in, with sessions stored securely on the edge. Route guards make sure people only reach the dashboard once they are signed in and onboarded.
Guided onboarding
The intake is a multi-step wizard — basic details, lifestyle, symptoms, safety screening and a functional self-assessment — that preserves every answer as the user navigates, so nothing is lost.
Secure scanner ingestion
The external scanner authenticates with a hashed API key and uploads scans and heatmaps directly to storage. Everything is validated on arrival, and all activity is logged for observability.

SpineAlign now has a fast, secure, professional dashboard that turns raw posture scans into something users can actually understand and act on — with a clean data pipeline feeding it from the scanning client, all on modern edge infrastructure with strong test coverage on the critical paths.
